Re: My Experience at the 2004 Republican National Convention Protests -- Part II: The Great Big Opening Act (August 27 – August 30)

And peaceful protestors --- including elderly union members, people on their knees in prayer, people just marching with a sign and not even violating the law, and hell people not even PROTESTING but just walking out of a restaurant (holding bags of food), have been hit by worse than bbs --- like with rubber bullets and battons. So when you show as much concern about the horrible violence and bloodletting caused by police thugs during their riots against peaceful demonstrators (who are the overwhelming majority of the actual protestors, as well as the overwhelming majority of the targets of this police violence), when you have even a single ounce of spine it takes to openly and publicly denounce that type of state violence and call it what it is --- criminal assault by police against nonviolent innocent people --- then maybe some of us would take your concerns about five people out of 500,000 tossing something seriously.

But you don't care how many skulls are fractured and how many head and chest wounds those elderly union members and the people on their knees in prayer received from police guns and battons. You have not one word of condemnation for the police committing those attacks, while you spout inane drivel about how a few people out of hundreds of thousands is enough to justify illegal brutal thugish behavior by cops against peaceful people.

In other words, you haven't a shred of credibility because you haven't a shred of shame, remorse, integrity, or honesty.

So in other words, you're wasting your time and breath hear, so why not go someplace and spout your whining fascist babble where it belongs --- like the National Alliance website, or the Free Republic? For people who hate freedom of speech and of assembly and peace and activism and left/progressive ideals, you spend an awful lot of time listening to us and trying to talk to us. But we don't care what you think, or what you say, and as long as you contribute to the mentality and actions that leave our friends and allies bloodied and beaten and incarcerated by the agents of state repression, we don't care who threw what at you.

If you won't lift a finger to restrain the much more violent, much better equipped and armed and armored, forces actually operating for the state to oppress and beat and intimidate all of us, then why on earth do you think we will expell much energy on five or six kids who toss batteries? You attack us whether that happens or not. Your own collegues act undercover to provoke violence, they initiate it, they engage in it. Where the hell do you, as members of such an organization, get off telling any of us that we need to control OUR members, considering the mockery you make of our freedoms and the scars you make of our flesh?

Oh, gee, sorry, I don't have time to try to investigate and track down a tiny group of people who tossed something at you once. I'm a little busy on the whole "trying to help stop fascism among our government, military, and POLICE" right now. So are a lot of us. And it'd be easier if you and others cared as much about law-breaking, violence, etc as you spout off about, because if you did then you'd be doing things to stop your own collegues.
