Re: My Experience at the 2004 Republican National Convention Protests -- Part II: The Great Big Opening Act (August 27 – August 30)
Date Edited: 07 Sep 2004 09:15:31 PM
So, can you give us a link to evidence on this? I can't imagine that you just didn't react or respond,. You said:
"all wore black & were masked carrying red & black flags. acc & infoshop are prone to violence"
So you saw them, saw what they wore, and they were carrying flags. Right after describing the event, in the same section of your post (you broke it up with spaces between info/thoughts), you make the supposed assertion of fact that "acc & infoshop are prone to violence", so I'm guessing you wouldn't make that type of public slandering/libeling without evidence to protect yourself (having supposedly identified yourself on this site, referencing photos and where you hang out etc). Right? So a reasonable person would assume you meant to link the event you described to the groups you mentioned immediately thereafter in the same set of thoughts.
Please give us the arrest info, date, time, etc so we can verify your claim is authentic. This should be easy. Even if you didn't manage to apprehend the "offenders" (hard to imagine, since you guys are so quick about moving in an nabbing protestors who do much less than what you described), you must have filed a report about it, right?
See, this way you verify your claims, and we can at lest determine that this or that claim you make is authentic -- or at least backed up by some form of evidence even if the actual circumstances are in question. We aren't just going to take your word for it, we need the proof please. Forgive us if the history of the police is not one which generates blind faith in everything you assert.
Maybe it happened as you say, or in a way similar to what you claim, but most of us will insist you back up your assertions with facts to prove it. We document our claims, and you certainly insist we do so; the same standard applies to you, especially in light of what we all know about such claims from the police.
Finally, I hope you weren't embarrassed by grabbing them (if you caught them) only to find out they were undercover friends of yours! Boy, now THAT would be embarrassing, huh?!
