You'll probably hate to be agreeing with the right wing fascist, but yes, that's true. The corporate scum who hire illegals should be put in jail because of their treason. Leftists love to talk about the "externalties" of capitalism. The biggest externalities right now are the increased costs of health care, education, crime, environmental damage, and all the rest that are passed to the taxpayer while businesses build up their bottom line. The middle class is subsidizing its own destruction.

Where we probably disagree is on culture and the idea that the illegals are helpless victims. This IS an invasion that threatens the existence of the American nation. I think Americans have a national culture and that they have a right to preserve it. Racism, to me, seems like a silly word nowadays, reduced to what Orwell said of fascism -- "No one knows what it means anymore except something vaguely bad." (Incidentally, I'm also opposed to the Iraq War, as I would argue all real conservatives should be.)

Now I'm sure you'll have some arguments about why I'm a racist and I'll have some arguments about why the entire concept is stupid, but it really doesn't matter. The populist right and the radical left will cancel each other out -- and the corporations and Bush will keep their profits while we scream at each other in the street and type arguments back and forth here. The whole situation is absurd, but there's really no way out.
