Plain and simple, the 27th was a great action. Of course there is always room for improvement and we must continually be willing to question how effective we are being, but I think it is very unfair to criticize those of us who were actually there and risked (and recieved on some people's part) physical violence and arrest if you were not there yourself and willing to step it up. But we need to be realistic, no good having our most militant activists shot or in jail if we can help it. Of course we need to be willing to take those risks, but to do so without being sure of the cause is silly and juvenile. I was there in the front and we discussed the situation. I agreed with those around me that the situation was not right to rush the capitol. There were a lot of people there without that in mind and who would not have fought. No one had helmets, most people did not have shields. And finally, militant action is great, but let us remember that we need a mass movement. We need to agitate, but 150 anarchists can not take the capitol and declare victory. That is what the marxists want to do. We need to make sure that most of our efforts is where our roots and real allies are, the working class around the world. I have friends that would never go to a black bloc action but still struggle every day for the anarchist cause. We all need to do what we can without allusions of martyrdom or false heroics. We dont need superanarchists, we need realistic and effective organization and more people!
