I'm not even in D.C. but I've heard your arguement before and it just seems like one more thing to keep white radicals from doing anything. Do you honestly think those homeless and people of color we're against that action? In a world consumed with isolation where one wonders everyday "does anyone care?" - it is nice to see instances like this to know that yes, others care, and that others want an organized resistance to the hell we live in.
People either say white radicals live too comfortably (which yes, some do) if they don't do anything, or if they do do something, then they are way too priviledged to be doing it. WTF?

I made an observation, not an argument. The next step is to ask, "Why?"

It's true that we shouldn't be dismissive of any action that doesn't reach some standard of purity, but it's equally true that we shouldn't just unthinkingly sing the praises of any action just because it constitutes "doing something".

*Every* action should be scrutinized, and every subsequent action should be informed by that scrutiny. That -- not self-therapy -- is what will end the war.
