I agree that many of the most visible leftist activists are self-important, self-interested sanctimonious schmucks. In fact, most activists are weenies that annoy the hell out of me. Mostly I react that way, I think, because I recognize a lot of that in myself. But, sadly, that is one of the very few personality types that is motivated to make noise and speak truth to power.

I bet the progressive movement would have a lot more social cred if we had more attractive personalities at the head of the movement.

Not that I agree with him on a lot of things, but Obama is a perfect example of a super attractive personality. If we could only find a Barack Obama who would ACTUALLY undo NAFTA.
