Re: Cops harassing cyclists, peds at 14th and P, Farragut, Dupont

how do you come to the conclusion that stopping a bicyclist is paramount to using lethal force?

Have you ever seen the videos of the critical bike rides in NY during the RNC when the cops try to take a few bikers down. The cop's fat asses almost broke the guys legs and arms during the struggle and the mopeds they where needlessly driving through the crowds(as if that was enough to break down solidarity) ended up injuring a lot of people. I they tried that in DC with the way traffic is they WOULD end up killing someone of very very badly injuring someone to the point where that person's life would be on hold and their pockets be burning in dept from hospital bills. Just think about it...bike verses moped, motorcycle or car...hmmmm not good.

why do you insist on fleeing from the police? if you run, and during your flight you injure yourself, there is no culpability on the part of law enforcement. do not flee, do not break the law. point blank.

Just sit there and do whatever the nice police officer says, because they know what is best for everyone. Just follow your leaders and follow their laws and don't question them and things are fine!

Here are the ways you can stop a resisting biker by force:

1: Pursue and tackle the rider by bike, or motorcycle(he can evade a car in traffic), risking serious injusry to both the target and yourself.

2: Ram the bike, risking a crash in traffic and possible fatal injury. If you chase a bike in a car and catch up, what do you do then-ram him? Try to cut him off? If you pull ahead and stop blocking the road he can pull a quick U-turn and you are left trying to turn around and get moving again. By the time you are moving, he is GONE.

3: Stick something in the spokes, causing a crash in traffic and possible injury or even death if the rider is thrown into traffic.

4: Fire on the cyclist with some sort of weapon. Even a Taser or pepper spray again risks a crash in traffic.

You cannot roadblock a bike unless you have official permisson and manpower to block all roads out of the area with orange construction netting!

In April 2002(IMF), an attempt by cops to mass arrest a Critical Mass ride, executed with bike cops deploying a "roadblock," caught only 37 riders out of an estimated 230 as people rode directly through the spaces in the police line. I was there and easily escaped even though I was specifically targeted by a top official in a red command car. After three failed attempts to go around the block and block me he threw in the towel.

As far as I am concerned, anyone who tries to stop me by force(ABDUCT) or ticket(ROB)me on the road is the enemy, just as he would be in Iraq for trying to do the same thing.
