I find it difficult to believe that this type of thing is becoming common in the U.S. I associate this type of stuff with third world dictators. I think violence has become an accepted part of life and I find this horrifying. In my student activist days in Britain, attention was paid to other people's points of view. I will long remember marching to Aldermaston with Bertrand Russell and many others. Violence against the marchers was not even an issue.
