Re: Protest Pics & Inspirational article
Re: Protest Pics & Inspirational article
Thanks to Bush, we have very few allies and many more enemies, and I can't blame any of them for feeling anger and the temptation to get back at us. Just ask anyone who has lost someone in the 9/11 attacks or Iraq. The sadness and anger doesn't go away for a long, long time, and one death can leave a scar on many people. I heard many Americans say they were "out for blood" after the 9/11 attacks, and wanted to "get revenge". That's one of the many reasons why war should be a LAST RESORT, not a preferred solution.

Re: Protest Pics & Inspirational article
and here's the story in the Philadelphia Inquirer. www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/news/nation/10695447.htm
The first picture is after the initial pepper-spray blast. As I knelt down five feet in from of the riot police I recieved a full frontal blast to the face.
It is hard to forgive both the riot police for inciting the riot as well as the anarchists for their juvenile and antagonistic behavior

Re: Protest Pics & Inspirational article
And don't try any crap about "the cops are responding to the antagonism blah blah" or that the protesters "give the cops the excuse" -- that is utter nonsense and I'm tired of these ridiculous lies. Any of you happen to witness Miami's anti-globalization protests? Notice the nice, peaceful elderly folks getting attacked by thugs with badges, or the way those "brave" cops "protected and served" the public by shooting (rubber bullets) unarmed, praying, peaceful demonstrators in the back and then again in the head while they were already wounded on the ground? Did you see the images of coughing, bloody people dazed by the ferocity of the police attacks?
Being "peaceful" or "legally permitted" gets you NOTHING, they will hunt and smash and shoot and gas and beat you, whenever and wherever they can get away with it. It is not in "response" to anything, and it's especially offensive to give any sort of legitimacy to these brutal, inexcusable, thuggish tactics by portraying the protestors as "antagonizing" armored, helmeted, heavily armed troops with shields and gates. Such claims are entirely without merit, and while it's good to see you demonizing the actions of the police it's irresponsible and unrealistic to equate the actions of protesters to those of the cops. There is no comparison.
The actions of the demonstrators are in response to the ever-expanding national security state police-powers that were on display yesterday in DC. The real "provocation" from the protesters that the police responded to was the expression of dissent, of speech, of assembly. THIS is what leads to the police violence, and there is no point in pretending otherwise.

www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form11.html
and you can send cnn a news tip. you don't have to send your name and e-mail or anything else. Flood them with info on a tip and they'll get the message to cover it. Send them the dialog from the day of the inaguration...the hourly, minute breakdown. If they get enough and enough pictures maybe they'll give it some coverage.

Huge apologies to the rest of the readers for my vitriol, I always rise to the bait. It just astonishes me how many proto-fascist rednecks there seem to be in America. Too much inbreeding?
Re: Protest Pics & Inspirational article
the point being, as long as they "I" am winning it doesnt really matter. Winning what you ask, it dooesnt matter as long as im winning.
