Home Demo reminds Wolfowitz of scandal,World Bank staffers to protest next

On Friday, April 13, demonstrators erected a sign in Wolfowitz's lawn in front of 7104 Pinehurst Parkway, his home off Western Ave. This time, we didn't have to break out the air horns and yell, as the mainstream press has been doing the yelling for us.

As the sign says "Paul Wolfowitz steals from the poor and gives the money to his ex-girlfriend. This scandal has led to a torrent of nasty press coverage and at this point will probably cost Wolfie his job.
With luck, this neocon bastard will STAY retired!
Wolfowitz's behavior has been so bad the Washington Post has predicted it will overshadow all else in the Spring Meetings.

In addition, World Bank staffers are so outraged that they themselves are going to protest outside the Spring Meetings, along with other groups like Friends of the Congo!

We have come a long way, and so many Neocons like Wolfie and Gonzales are in deep shit. The IMF's loan portfolio has dropped from a peak of $96 billion to around $20 billion today. Seven years ago, it took 20,000 people battling police to get close enough to the Bank to be seen-this time, Bank staffers THEMSELVES are protesting!

Judgement day is coming-soon for Paul Wolfowitz, with headlines like the Times-UK's "Vultures gather as Bush's hawk falls from grace." With the IMF and World Bank losing influence, can their own end be far behind?

UPDATE-World Bank Board of governors find Wolfie reponsible!

The World Bank's directors have just found that Wolfie did indeed give benefits and funds to his ex without review by the ethics committee.

They now say they plan to "move expeditiously" to determine what sanctions to impose. May I suggest FIRING?

Wish I could have been there; I'm not feeling well. I LOVE the sign!
