Activism is not about playing soccer, it is about fighting everything that every activist is against, and do what every activist is supposed to be doing, ACTIVISM!!
Screw Richmond if they just don't get it!

Re: VAF spring conference saturday april 19
To schedule a third and unrelated event on April 19th is a harmful act against the DC mobilization against the Nazis and possibly against Philly's Mumia march as well.
If this was the first time, that would be one thing-but coming on the heels of the butchered AMREN call and that "peace bloc" that tried to sabotage the Georgetown march it is quite another.
Suspected Democratic party operatives have repeatedly tried to disrupt anarchist and anarchist-supported protests in the DC area, beginning with Georgetown/IMF. This being so, it has become especially important for anarchist groups to avoid doing the same thing to oneanother with competing events scheduled on dates known in advance.
It would be a show of real solidarity to move the VAF event to April 20th-and would allow VAF members to participate in the conference without having to give Nazis a free pass in DC. I know DC is 120 miles from Richmond, but as much as many activists seem to travel these days, a "neighboring city" event can cause a lot of problems.
As for DC, it was the Nazis who picked that date, forcing(under threat of later and bigger Nazi mobes followed by crimes) DC residents to focus on stopping a threat in our own communities first. All of us in DC would prefer that the Nazis cancel their event, so we would be free to do other things, but the only way to achieve this is to go out in the streets and shut them down ourselves.
I suspect few DC area activists are going to be travelling to Richmond when Nazis are on the Mall!
