First Combat Vet to Refuse: Camilo Mejia Speaks In DC Wednesday July 2

Camilo Mejía was the first combat veteran to go public with his refusal to fight Bush's war in Iraq, arguing that "no soldier should go
to Iraq and give his life for oil." He was discharged and sentenced by the U.S.
Military to one year of hard labor.

Camilo, a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War, has organized tirelessly against the
war in Iraq since his release in February 2005. Mejia will discuss and sign copies of
his memoir "Road from Ar Ramadi: The Private Rebellion of Staff Sergeant Mejía"
at Busboys and Poets on June 2nd. Please join us.
