Why do you keep spamming this site with ads for obscure audio compression formats?

I'm not spamming. I've posted it in two threads, both of which use patent-encumbered audio formats.

There is no way to play MP3 files in the US without breaking the law or using non-free software. Ogg/Vorbis isn't patent-encumbered, and furthermore, it achieves better compression and quality.

If you want people dedicated to freedom to listen to your audio, provide it in a format that can be played in the Free World. If not, then all of the anarkists on their Windows boxen will be your audience. The link in the button has everything you need to use a Free format. It's your choice.

There are hundreds of free applications to play MP3s.

Pretty much every OS comes with one pre-installed, unless you are unfortunate enough to be stuck with Lunix.

Unless you are in the business of selling hardware to encode/decode audio streams, patents and licensing are non-issues.

That depends on the bitrates.
At 128Kbps (which the OP used) or higher, modern codecs are statistically tied in perceived quality in public listening tests.

That would be MP3, which is playable everywhere.
It certainly isn't Ogg.
Post your files in Ogg and you have just limited your audience to only the most tech-savvy of readers.

Playing MP3 files without a license to use MP3 breaks US patent law (I'm not sure about the situation in the EU, but it could be similar). Patents in the US (and US proxies) can and are applied to software concepts, such as the GIF compression scheme and the MP3 codec.

Cite the relevant sections of patent law.

Double-blind listening tests are the only scientifically and statistically valid method of judging perceptual quality of lossy audio compression techniques.

Strange that you would call Windows a toy, as it is used in most work situations.

Marginally better quality in some situations.
But hardly anyone can play it.
