This was mentioned(and the fact that the young people on skateboards are also African_American should have been mentioned) because of the perception that only white people get involved in animal rights causes.

However poor the record of the "mainstream" animal rights groups on diversity, it is clear that outright animal TORTURE like at HLS offends people without regard for their own background.

You don't have to be rich to recognize that punching puppies in the face has nothing to do with science and everything to do with mindless brutality.

Let's also keep in mind that animal abuse is a reliable predictor of abuse directed at humans. In domestic abuse cases, torture of companion animals often precedes beatings and even murder of domestic partners and children. In corprate thuggery, Glaxo-SmithKline(GSK) has long had a terrible reputation for aninmal torture. They are one of HLS's most enthusiastic customers.

Now it comes out that one of GSK's vaccine studies in Argentina has killed at least 12 children. The study was conducted there to avoid scrutiny, and GSK's abuse of animals accurately predicted their racist willingness to treat Latino children and babies as expendable "test subjects!"
