What is the whacko eco nuts protesting and what is there plan. I spend a lot of time reading this web site. dc.indymedia.org I first became aware of this web site after the Portland protest. I well give these people credit they are very organized, cameras, camcorders, radio reports and are update on what is going on. Do I agree with them no but we have to allow them to peacefully protest but as normal they are missing the big picture.

In order for any country to survive you have to convert raw material into saleable goods. This means logging, mining and manufacturing. They are very disillusioned and have no real clue about solutions. Their leaders stay back and collected huge sum of money but don't spend one dime on finding solutions they collect all this money for what? Ahh their was a Dutch producer that made a film documenting the corruption of Greenpeace called the "Crack in the Rainbow" one of the things he exposed was that 12 top Greenpeace officials allegedly ran off with $1,000,000 each.

As normal all these nutcases want is all of us to live in tipi smoking dope and having visions to save the world. Nothing even close to real solutions. How come their top leaders are not spending big money on Research and Devolvement? Simple because over the last 30 years they didn't want to work at a real job if you find real solution then soon you well be out of work.

Their are millions of starving people but what did these nutcases worry about animals? A proven fact was that hunters paid for the game warden to protect the herds once hunting has been outlaw the money was cut to pay for the game warden more people that support the hunting community were put out of work so they turn to poaching to earn money to feed their family. Again you never hear the full story from any of these groups.

Another fact the eco-nuts change the name from old growth to ancient forest that is so the useful idiots well have an emotional icon to focus on. Even though several studies have proven that logging is very healthy for a forest and after logging wildlife numbers skyrocket? Why because a new forest provides food and cover for the animals. But again the protestors are never told the real truth. They are only told how to think and never mine the facts. Sit in a tree and protest logging. It is too bad so much talent is being wasted on not finding solution but on hurting the economy. Putting people out of work through gross ignorance and not solving any problems because their leaders are using them.

I would like, before any criticisms, to commend you on your moral initiative to tolerate that which you do not agree with. I know its more than alot of people on the left could do. However, your tolerance is off key with your awareness. Indeed, if all protesters were proposing was reform, as some do, i would agree. In order for Global Capitalism to work, we would have to continue the path we are currently maintaining. Lets face it, that IS what the IMF/World Bank do. They act as a tool of integration between the Northern/Southern parts of the world. This, in so many ways, has led to economic, political, and social adjusment that have been without consent if it's own people. Now, as far as solutions, i do believe that between global state capitalism and tipi living primitivsm, there lies a logical alternative. It does require thinking out of the grid, but if your paying to attention to projects such as Indymedia, a site dedictated by its very nature to anti-capitalism, but also organized, as said through your own words, then the alternatives couldnt be that bad. in providing funds for "devolvement"... How exactly would that work?

The WB/IMF are killing the ecosystems that humans and all animals, plants and everything else, depend on to sustain life. They do this for private profit and lie to the people about thier programms, have closed, totally undemocratic meetings that are attended only by the very, very rich. The WB/IMF are not the only institutions doing this, all the big banks do it, it's capitalism and it kills.
