FreeReeps and Vets

Snotty flag-waving "protest-warrior" teenager yells at generations of veterans.
video
I don't mind being called an anti-American coward, but I wish Free Republic had the decency to show a little respect by just shutting up as US veterans from several generations (I interviewed one who had served in the Korean conflict) walked by, as well as the families of military personnel currently serving in Iraq, some of whose family members have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Some patriots.

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

Wonder why she hasn't enlisted? She could be the next Jessica Lynch...or maybe not.
Picture just about sums up the regime's supporters.

Read one account of a regime supporter calling the demonstrators "dirty commies". In my opinion, exercised under the first amendment of Bill of Rights, they are all a bunch of imbeciles, dangerous imbeciles.

So don't expect any rationality out of them.

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

I think those rightwing freek republic nuts are pathetic. They have no respect for anyone and are so mean,so evil. I can't undertand how they live with themselves. They remind me of demons.....satan's little helpers.But....look at their fearless "leader". He's nothing but the devil's spawn. http://www.geocities.com/trebor_92627/Bush.htm

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

Nice try losers...I was standing right next to this young gal and we were merely asking him why he was marching with those that spat on him after Nam and the same people that will spit on the returning troops tomorrow. Look at the pic, she's not even addressing him. Pure propoganda, just like your over-inflated number of marchers...you had 10k if that. What a movement, more like a bowel movement.

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

If I was a soldier I would be more offended by someone who wouldn't approve an increase in my combat pay (George W. Bush) rather than some inconsiderate asshole who spit on me. Bush cut benefits for veterans and refused to allow an increase in soldiers combat pay. I think if you were to ask most protestors if they think soldiers should get paid more for having to carry out Rumsfeld's and Wolfowitz's dirty work most protestors would say YES!

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

I was shocked and horrified as I walked by these un-Patriotic Americans. An old women now, I was threatened and jeered. My Father fought in WWII, my Uncle still has shrapnel in him from Korea, my cousin was KILLED in Vietnam (silver star, purple heart, 19 yr old, HM3 medic), and my nephew is currently serving in Iraq...

that group was just a bunch of bullies, reTHUGlicans....

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

That girl is the daughter of a blue star mother. She definately has a right to yell at that traitorous vet who could be jepardizing a relative....

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

A traitorous vet...

Wow. The oxycontin must be flowing thick and fast.

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

ANSWER's website under the "Counter-revolution & Resistance in Iraq" has Richard Becker, West Coast Coordinator saying "Now is the time for the anti-war movement to give unconditional support to the Iraq anti-colonial resistance forces".

OK, so if they kill US soldiers, do you unconditionally support that?

If you do, it doesn't matter if you are a vet and have served, you are now a traitor.

And I'm sure anyone serving now does not consider any of these vets patriotic because they now march with those who give unconditional support to those killing soldiers.

They may be vets but for sure they are traitors.

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

>>>An old women now, I was threatened and jeered. <<<

Really, from behind a barrier and with police present?

Yeah, that happened.......

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

You do know Al has owned up to using coke right?

BTW, can you name Al's two other books? The ones that didn't trade on Rush or Fox News' reputations?

"Lie and Liars" wasn't selling initally. The pubkisher had to mount a big publicity campaign to inform the public that "Lies and Liars" was NOT Al Fraken's autobiography.

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

"OK, so if they kill US soldiers, do you unconditionally support that?

If you do, it doesn't matter if you are a vet and have served, you are now a traitor."

People have the right to resist military occupation of their land.

The real traitors are the chickenhawks who put the men and women in the US armed forces into the position of fighting an illegal war and enforcing a military occupation (on the cheap).

I'm not defending ANSWER but their web-site has a very prominently feature urging that we bring the troops home.

Better than W saying "Bring 'em on," or suggesting that the increase in bombings and attacks shows how well things are going.

The traitors are those sitting in the White House, and those who defend them, in their subversion of American values (including the right to resist invaders).

Re: FreeReeps and Vets

To the Republicans and all their supporters:

Do you consider the troops in Iraq who say they want to come home "traitors"? Do you consider the troops in Iraq who made up a deck of cards featuring Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al "traitors"? Do you consider the 77% of the troops who said they were voting against Bush (according to the Army Times poll) to be "traitors"? Do you consider the Pentagon and others in our government who purchase Depleted Uranium weapons, made from uranium waste and which is the cause of Gulf War Syndrome (183,000+ Gulf War vets disabled, about 10,000 dead, as of year 2000), "traitors"?
Or how about this: Do you consider Americans who want other Americans to cease exercising their First Amendment right to dissent "traitors"? Do you consider it "unpatriotic" to suggest it is "treason" to use Constitutional rights? Did you personally engage in anti-Clinton rhetoric, opposing his use of military force, publicly or privately ridiculing the Commander-in-Chief? Did you think Rush Limbaugh was a "traitor" for his daily statements against the Clinton administration?
Your answers to all these questions are obvious enough. Now, none of this is to defend Clinton, by the way---I despised him just as much as Bush or any other President. The point is, you people throw around the words "traitor", "treason", "unpatriotic", only when someone attacks the President or political party YOU support.
I personally wear it as a badge of honor to be called "unpatriotic", especially by the individuals currently using those tired, jargonistic terms. I hope the day never comes when it will be said I am "loyal" to this government or the tyranny it practices.
As far as denying that right-wing demonstrators insulted the vets, or made ambiguous threats, there were a few thousand of us there that day, and a lot of us saw what happened and what was said, and those things did occur. Moreover, it is suggested nobody would make "threats" while behind a police barrier; well, not surprisingly, that's precisely when specific types of people will hurl insults or threats---when it's safe to do so. So, yes, you CAN be sure that happened.
Ultimately, I must admit that my feeling is, many of you on the right are completely unaware of some of the facts I meantioned above about depleted uranium. This is not some weird theory, it is a very well-documented fact (even the New York Times covered it when Italy said they might sue the US over the health costs for Italian soldiers in Kosovo, who were exposed to high levels of radiation and heavy-metal poisoning from US depleted uranium weapons used in the bombing campaign there). If you knew the truth and all the facts concerning how this is killing and permanently maiming US soldiers (and their children--67% of Gulf War vets' children are born with severe birth defects), maybe you wouldn't be so quick to support this war or other wars. Look into this, if you are uninformed on it; do a web search for "depleted uranium" and "Gulf War" and see what you find out, if you dare. Then come back and say you don't care, you still "support the troops" by demanding they be irradiated and killed by their own weapons.
Those troops can't even get VA benefits, because the Pentagon refuses to acknowledge the dangers from DU weapons (actually, they did acknowledge them, saying if the public found out about the risks and health effects, nobody would tolerate those weapons; they only began denying any adverse effects once troops started to apply for disability or started to drop dead).
